Dr. Ginny Carlson, DVM has worked with Sierra Wildlife Rescue for a number of years. Her dedicated care of domestic animals has extended to wildlife and Sierra Wildlife Rescue is very grateful that Dr. Carlson continues to work with us to rehabilitate injured and orphaned wildlife.

Therapeutic ultrasound helps the body in healing itself. The sound waves create microscopic air bubbles that stimulate cell membranes and promote healing via micromassage of fluids and tissue. This increases cell/vascular wall permeability, heats tissues (if needed), increases circulation, increases collagen extensibility, increases the metabolic rate, decreases edema, decreases inflammation, decreases muscle spasm, decreases scar tissue, relaxes muscles, changes nerve conduction velocity and can help/remind tissues to heal. This modality is only offered at our private appointments.
