Following a freak accident which resulted in the removal of my agility dog Sage’s right eye, I took her to Mountainside Veterinary Rehabilitation for assistance in regaining balance and depth perception. This was in addition to the pain she was experiencing in her body. Dr. Carlson provided Sage with acupuncture and chiropractic treatments as well as assisted us with exercises to help her regain balance again. Dr. Carlson’s compassionate nature and quiet demeanor assisted in the progress Sage has made as well as my ability to view Sage’s “single view” as a strength.
VSMT allows us to treat areas of decreased motion and discomfort via a high velocity low amplitude thrust to a specific joint and direction. The VSMT adjustment can have numerous neurological consequences beneficial to the body and nervous system. Joint/segmental dysfunction can lead to an area of dysfunction in a much larger area, including affecting an entire body system even the entire body. VSMT can be used to treat pain, areas of restriction and overall maintenance and health. It can also be used to alter neurologic abnormalities that may be affecting the gastrointestinal, respiratory, urinary, musculoskeletal and other systems.
